Gapless playback is a major piece missing! For everyone with mixes and albums that even blend together which a lot do now. Its very annoying to have that break when it shouldnt be there. We have it on our CD players every player on our computers, even iPhone had this down, from its first debut. Why do we not have the ability yet?

Possible implementations:

Auto -- If there is no AlbumArt.jpg in album's folder, then just use whatever image there is (.jpg or .jpeg).

Manual -- When searching for album art (in Pro version), allow a separate search in album folder.

This will allow you to browse albums in release order, e.g.:

Mike Oldfield/
1973 - Tubular Bells
1974 - Hergest Ridge
1975 - Ommadawn
...

The Genre page would be perfect for listing podcasts. I download my podcasts using a PC and sync them to /sdcard/Podcasts. I can play them with the file browser, but having a list of the current files would be so much easier.

allow for it to read the htc incredibles internal hard drive so i can use that for my media storage

When driving the car I would need a skin with big buttons and a button to change the rating. now I use gestures to set the rating but all the other navigation actions between the screens are dangerous while driving.

I really think it would be so user friendly to let people switch between File browser / Library / etc and 'Now playing' screen with default android return button. Now you get to the desktop when the button is pressed from the file browser so it just replicates Home button.

I used to have an ipod touch and when you double tapped the album art while playing music it would pull up the lyrics and allow you to scroll through them then double click to dismiss. This feature was implemented perfectly and was unobtrusive when compared to the current system. It pulled the lyrics directly from those saved in the files id3 data. I think the player would benefit greatly from such an addition.

when i edit files (specifically playlists) on my sd card, the meridian player lists both the old list and new list even if the old list has been deleted. there needs to be an empty cache feature.

subtitle must exist are Sub Station Alpha (. SSA) and Advanced Sub Station Alpha (. Ass). Therefore, it cam read the embedded subtitle, too.

I have my music divided up into folders and when I'm using the browser tab and scrolled wayyyyyy down into a folder, its a pain to scroll all the way to the top to click "<Parent Directory>" it would be much easier just to click the back button to go to the Parent Directory. (which I naturally try to do anyways.)
Right now, the back button just sends you back to your home screen if you press it, which the Home button will also do anyways.

When video playing, it could be interesting to see battery and current time (possible with options)

Detect compilation albums by
COMPILATION/ITUNESCOMPILATION tag
and group them by "ALBUM ARTIST"/BAND/"ALBUMARTIST"/ENSEBLE tags

Id like to create my own skin to better match my home screen. Im not interested in a giant 4x3-4 widget...and the small widget isnt very pretty. Can we make our own?

Voice Search on Android 2.2+ has a "Listen to (album/artist/song)" command that I would love to see Meridian be able to use.

Currently I can select Meridian as the handler app for that command, but it only opens Meridian and doesn't pick the track or begin playback.

when playing a song and switchung back to the playlist where I statret the song from, it is difficult to find the song which is playing right now
-> when opening the current playlist, please jump to the line of the song which is playing now (?? song at the top or in the middle of the list??)
-> please indicate the song which is playing now

With Android, is it possible to block tactile buttons when playing video to avoid effect of back button ?

It would be great to shift the pitch when increasing play back speed, but any increase would be great. I haven't found an android app that does this and it would really set meridian apart.
